Oak Leaves by pilgrimagedesign Oak Leaves by pilgrimagedesign
Well, this is how the oak leaf one came out after I dyed it. Leather dyeing is definitely not my strength. Give me paint any day. I thought it was a little off balance when I finished it, but it actually looks really good on. Very Asian kind of feel.

I use this glue called the Ultimate Crafter's Glue that I get from Hobby Lobby. This mask is all made in one piece however. The leaves were cut radiating out from the center mask on short stems and then I twisted the stems to bring them into place.

I actually use my scrap leather to just try out a lot of things first when I can't figure them out, or make a paperboard mockup.

I took me more than a hundred masks to figure it out also, so don't knock yourself :)

this is great!
one comment though: (my opinion) maybe the branch should have been a darker brown rather then a orange-yellow...

I thought of that afterward as well, but I was too afraid of the dye at that point. I should have gotten the pranch the right color first and then done the leaves and the background.
